Grades Appeal Process Now Open

High school students can now appeal to have Pass/P grades for third trimester classes completed during the spring 2020 school closure changed to letter grades. Students who want to make an appeal must have successfully completed the end-of-course assessment for the class and earned a P. They must also complete the officials appeals form. Appeals can be submitted over the summer, but they won’t be reviewed until school staff return in the fall. The deadline to file an appeal is Jan. 8, 2021, but we recommend seniors file their requests by Oct. 1, 2020 so they can be processed in time for fall early decisions, etc. We encourage students to talk to their parents, teachers, counselors and college admissions offices to determine whether changing a P to a letter grade will benefit them.
